ABOUT ME
I’m a graduate from the University of Waterloo’s GBDA program- Global Business and Digital Arts; It’s quite a fancy name, so to put it briefly, it’s a business and design program, with a hint of technology and humanities. But why does this matter? It means that not only do I have the chops to produce stunning designs, but I also understand the underlying business logic and strategies that inform the design. In other words, I get the HOW, and the WHY of design.
For me, designing for branding and producing creative illustrations are what spark the most joy. I get a huge amount of satisfaction from seeing a project go from a bare bones concept to a well-rounded and fully fledged final design. I enjoy the process of using colors, lines, shapes, and style to communicate an idea or meaning, or to tell a story. Since my hobbies and interests lay in the realm of beauty, cosmetics, and fashion, ideally, I see myself working for a design agency or studio as a Graphic Designer, UX Designer or Multimedia Artist that would interact with these industries.
As a designer, I feel there are 3 things that set me apart:
-
Passion- I have a burning desire to achieve visual perfection, while challenging the status quo.
-
Boldness- My designs evoke emotion, provoke new thought, and produce reactions.
-
Thoughtfulness- I root my design work in capturing meaning and serving a purpose.
